Conservation & Development at Birr Castle

Having worked for many years on the conservation of Birr Castle, when Lord and Lady Rosse were planning to retire and hand over responsibilities to the next generation, Southgate Associates were asked to take on the role of designing and delivering a new home for them.

The work that followed involved the design, achievement of planning consents and project management of the construction works to deliver a Regency Gothic styled extension and alterations to the East Wing of Birr Castle. Some of the drawings for the scheme are included below.
