Flor Hurley is a licenced archaeologist, who has been working in archaeology since he graduated from University College Cork’s Department of Archaeology in 1988. He has worked on over 500 sites in the intervening time, in varying capacities from digger to director. He has extensive experience in archaeological fieldwork, including excavation, testing, and monitoring of a variety of site types. In addition, he is experienced in archaeological research, recording and appraising archaeological and cultural heritage through the completion of archaeological assessments and desktop surveys.
Flor is highly experienced in dealing with clients, assisting them to achieve development consents from the relevant authorities. To aid these clients he has supervised laser scanning, underwater surveying, metalwork, ceramic and osteo-archaeological analysis. In addition, he is highly experienced in working on large-scale projects, which involve ensuring a satisfactory outcome to projects from an archaeological, conservation and design point of view.
